RU-21 -
As the story goes, RU-21 was developed by The Soviet Union during the cold
war to stop their KGB agents from giving away state secrets whilst under
the influence of alcohol! However, it didn't work as it was supposed
to and the idea was shelved until recently. What the pill does do is to
reduce the morning after effects of drinking alcohol. Alcohol is converted
in the body to a class of substances called aldehydes, which have a harmful
effect on the body (primarily the liver) before they ultimately decompose
into carbon dioxide and water. RU-21 slows down the conversion of alcohol
into aldehydes, and then speeds up the decomposition of the aldehydes,
thus mitigating the effects of drinking alcohol. The pill has been tested
by the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Toxicology Institute of the
Russian Ministry of Public Health. Since it has been available, it has
become very popular in the US (from whose drink laws it gets its name).
Most medical practitioners don't recommend that it be used to enable "binge
drinking" but that it should be used to alleviate the effects on the
body of moderate drinking.

Morning Dog Hangover Cure -
The best way to avoid a hangover is not to drink at all. However some of the more weak willed amongst us simply can't resist the temptation.
We've all heard the various ideas for hangover cures, hair of the dog, a good fry-up or some potion involving egg yolk and other unpalatable ingredients. The Morning Dog Hangover Cure is the latest tonic from the USA that contains ingredients that are said to get you back in the saddle in no time. All you have to do is top the ingredients up with a little of the 'dog that bit you' and drink it all in one. If you don't fancy that just top the bottle up with tomato juice, and don't worry there's not much to drink, just 3oz.

Milk Thistle
Milk Thistle is a plant and is a type of, er, thistle. You can buy it as a food supplement in tablet form.
Why here?
Well, it contains
a compound called silymarin which is thought to protect the liver - in fact milk thistles are used to treat liver cirrhosis, liver inflamation and gallbladder disorders.
So the idea is that by taking milk thistle as a supplement at a time when you are giving your liver a bit of a beating you will in fact help to protect it. However, please note that the scientific jury is still out on just how effective milk thistle is at treating liver disorders.
If you want to cover all bases and give it a go anyway, here are a few places you can buy milk thistle:
