New Venue! Club nights - Tuesday at

Black Book Café

1 Nelson Street

Stroud GL5 2HL

Nelson Street will be familiar to those who came to a previous venue of ours, when we used to meet at number 23…. But this new venue is even easier to find, being on the corner of Nelson and Parliament (aka Cornhill), in a building called The Silver Rooms, the first building in Nelson Street.

For SatNav users, the simplest is to put in the postcode and use number 1 as the street address; this is actually the address of the Laundrette “Soap N Suds” which is right next door to the Black Book Cafe. There is a Long Term Car Park about 100 yards further up Parliament Street on the right, with free parking after 6pm.

If you are driving in from Cirencester, the simplest route is to come into the town centre on the London Road, and turn right into Cornhill as one enters the Town Centre proper. About 200 yards up Cornhill there is a small roundabout at the junction with Nelson Street, and the Silver Rooms and the Soap N Suds laundrette are very visible on the right hand side. The Car Park is a further 100 yards up the main road on the right.

On foot, or coming from the station, the simplest is to walk up the High Street past Woodruff’s cafe and Costa Coffee shop and then just keep going. The pedestrian route will lead you to a crossing and take you straight to the venue, with The Silver Rooms and the Soap N Suds laundrette very visible in front of you, and Black Book Café in the same complex.

From Gloucester or Cheltenham, one comes in on the A46, turns right at the roundabout onto Merrywalks (2nd Exit, still the A46), following signs to Cirencester. Go straight through the multiple mini roundabouts at the end of Merrywalks and at the next major roundabout take the first exit left onto the A 419 towards Cirencester. At the next roundabout (~ 1 mile) take the first exit left again, following signs to “Town Centre”, onto The London Road. At the next proper roundabout turn right up Cornhill. About half a mile up Cornhill there is a pedestrian crossing and a small roundabout at the junction with Nelson Street, and the Silver Rooms and the Soap N Suds laundrette are very visible on the right hand side. The Car Park is a further 100 yards up the main road on the right.

If lost, phone Adrian on 07895683290 and he will direct you.
