Phototour The Cotswold District starts at the boundary of the Pub and we are in a designated ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’. A stream runs adjacent to the road and the bridge directly opposite the pub is reputed to be haunted. At the end of the pub there is the old pack horse trail to Bristol which is now a footpath and bridle way and the start of many a beautiful walk on this side of the valley.
Howard Parker and his team look forward to welcoming you to this beautifully situated and historic freehouse, parts of which date back to the 17th Century.
When you enter the Pub, there is a small
bar on your right ... Lounge Bar: Turning left when you enter the Pub brings you in to the lounge bar which features a large open fire place and hundreds of curios hanging from the ceiling. The lounge bar leads to a further small bar on the ground floor and then upstairs to the hayloft. A visit to the Pub and a meal upstairs in the hayloft was described by the author Katie Fforde in her novel ‘Living Dangerously’ She wrote; ‘He took her to a pub famous for its double Pies. Half the dish was a pie with fly away pastry on top, the other half was cauliflower cheese.
The hayloft door leads in to the garden which has two patio areas and seating for over sixty people. Steps lead down to the large car park which has space for fifty cars.
